Cisco Insider is the first Cisco-wide experience research program aimed at
our customers and partners. As an Insider, you will be part of an exclusive
team of customers and partners who are called on to provide guidance, insight,
and feedback on your experience with Cisco – from products and services you
use, to tools and information you access (or would like to access), to people
and programs you engage with. We’ll invite you to test concepts and co-create
experiences that align with what matters most to you.
Do you interact with Cisco products, support, or services? Do you use
Cisco.com? Do you make, influence, or execute purchasing decisions? Are you
willing to share candid feedback on what’s great and what’s not so great? Do
you want to create experiences you’ll love? If you answered yes to any of these
questions, then you are perfect for Cisco Insider.
It’s simple – you tell us a bit about your experience with Cisco, and we match you
with research studies that are compatible.
For example, we might be researching the installation process of our Next Gen
Firewall and want to understand the specific issues experienced by teams at small
and medium sized businesses. If that fits your profile, we would get in touch, share
a bit about what we’re studying and what to expect from participating, and let you
know how to sign up. While we’d love you to say “yes!” every time, we know you have
your own juggling to do.
Once you sign up, we schedule the activity, gather your input, and analyse it with
everything else we are hearing. Then we partner with the Next Gen Firewall team to
make improvements accordingly.
A founding principle of Cisco Insider is respect for your time. We achieve
this in several ways. By having a robust profile, we only share research requests
that are relevant to you. By grouping Cisco research efforts together and tracking
your involvement, we avoid contacting you for multiple requests at the same time.
Along these lines, we can’t guarantee there will be a match right away. Since we only
contact you with opportunities that fit your profile, it could be several months
before the right research study comes along.
Each time we invite you to a new research effort, we explain the time commitment
so you can make a decision based on your availability. Examples of how research
engagements might work:
Online, in your own time, 5-30 minutes
Webex discussion, 60-90 minutes
On-site workshop, 3+ hours
We use a range of research approaches, so there’s bound to be at least one that suits you.
One of the best paybacks we provide is to listen carefully and represent
what customers and partners tell us, highlighting your input and priorities
to inform how Cisco teams shape the future of your interactions and
experiences with Cisco.
Tangible stuff is cool too, so we provide tokens of appreciation when you
engage with us – anything from Cisco swag to gift cards and more. Of course,
this may vary in order to comply with your local regulations and company

at any time, and we will update our systems to ensure we do not contact you
for future research opportunities.
If you’re willing to share, we’d be curious to know your reason for opting out,
along with any feedback on the program. Our goal is to improve your experience
with Cisco, and that includes with Cisco Insider!
to begin building your profile. Now that you’re an Insider, we will
reach out as suitable research opportunities come up, which could be right
away or in several months.

you to create experiences you’ll love!
